King’s Head was a standard 15-room hostel. In later years rooms 1 and 2 were converted to provide one accessible room with en suite bathroom.
[It’s named after King Henry VIII, who stayed in the earlier Hall; the notable Henry VIII room was in the Mansion and its furniture, hangings and panelling were removed in 1948. Now then, should we or should we not include the apostrophe?]
